Planting with Mimi

This is how we spent most of our September (when it wasn't raining), soaking up the last warm days of the year. With another summer coming to a close, we decided to plant some fresh herbs so we would have them for the winter months to come. Naturally, Mimi did the planting and you jumped right into help her. You love to be outside, love to play in the dirt, and love to do ANYTHING with Mimi. She explains everything to you, even when I'm sure you aren't retaining a thing, and she always takes her time, letting you play as long as you want or help as much as you want, when I would have told you we were "all done". I guess that is just one of the million reasons why you love her so much!

Daddy...

Lately you are a big time mamma's girl. When Daddy gets home from work, he is so excited to see you and recently you have been running the other direction when he goes to give you a hug and you come looking for me. As much as I love that you love me so much, I wish you would stop breaking your Daddy's heart! I know it's just a phase and usually after a half hour you go looking for him to play with you. It's music to my ears when I hear you get all silly and start giggling when he gets on the floor and starts tickling you.

My Boss

You are talking up a storm and are starting to say things that just crack me and Daddy up. Your new phrase is "No waaaaaayyyyy!" We have no idea where you got it from but every time we ask you to do something you don't want to do its "NOOOOOOOO WAAAAAAYYYYYY Mamma!" followed my a big pouty face and that pointy little finger. Someone sure does think they are the boss around here!

LBI again...

Once again we were blessed to be able to go down the shore twice this past summer. We headed down to LBI again the last week of July for our annual family beach trip with Mimi, Poppy, Aunt Mare, Joey, Uncle Joe, Uncle Josh and Aunt Mitzi! It was so wonderful to be able to spend time with Aunt Mitzi and Uncle Josh. You loved the beach so much and we had amazing weather this year, unlike last year when it rained. These are some of my favorite pictures from the week....

Our favorite night of the year! Seafood Night! Daddy went out and made us a ton of crabs, we also had shrimp, clams and mussels. This family loves seafood and we always splurge on a huge dinner on our LBI vacation. Although you wouldn't eat any this year...we will certainly keep trying till you fall in love with crabs!

Hitching a ride with Aunt Mitzi after spending the day on the beach.

One of my favorite pictures!

The days that we are all together are few and far in between, so we were loving this week together!

Little Picasso

Your new favorite thing is painting. I keep the paints on top of the refrigerator, in hopes you may forget they are there, but at least 3 times a week you cling to the door and scream "I paint, I paint pleeeeeeeaaaasssssseeeee!" How can I resist such good manners? The only thing about painting is you haven't quite mastered keeping it on the paper, I am trying very hard to let go of my OCD and just let you have fun. But painting ultimately means washing the highchair cover, the kitchen floor, and of course YOU!

Chatty Cathy!

The biggest milestone this summer has been your speech for sure! You are talking up a storm and towards the end of the summer you started to speak in little phrases and every once in awhile now you will blurt out an entire sentence. It's so crazy how for the past almost 2 years I have been talking away to you, and now you are finally talking back to me! I can finally have a conversation with you. Although sometimes I would like you to be quiet, all in all it's so nice to be able to have someone to chat with everyday!

I'm in Trouble!

For the most part, you and I are 2 peas in a pod....but every once in awhile, nothing can make us see eye to eye. We quickly turn to oil and water. You have such a little opinion and you definitely want it to be known. It scares me when I see these small glimpses of our future, I can picture you as a defiant teenager screaming how much you hate me. But no matter how loud we yell, or how much we cry, we always are back loving one another in no time. Let's hope that trend forever continues.
