Christmas Eve

I decided to host Christmas Eve this year...not sure what I was thinking, but everything ended up being great. We had a lot of family and friends over and you, Maya, and Dillon were running around like crazy lunatics. Unfortunately Reese was sick and we missed her a lot. The three of you LOVED opening up all your presents and even though I'm not sure you quite understand what Christmas is really about, you sure know its something magical. I had to force myself to stop playing hostess, and get on the floor and watch you kids. The excitement in those little faces as you guys tore through the gifts was priceless. I mean that is really what Christmas is all about, and next year is going to be even better. After the house was cleaned up and all the dishes were put away, and mostly everyone had left. I sat on the floor with you and read you "The Night Before Christmas". I'm still trying to think up all the Christmas traditions I want to do with you year after year, and I think this will definitely be one that sticks. One tradition I'm willing to give up is dinner here...so much work...maybe we will be back at Mimi's again next year! First Christmas in our new home was definitely one to remember...we are very blessed.

Ears Pierced

I wanted to get your ears pierced when you were a baby, but Daddy was so against it! He said that it would make you look like a "big girl". One day out of no where he decided that you could have them pierced if I still wanted to do it. The whole way to the piercing place, I was having such second thoughts, I wanted to do it, but I felt so guilty about taking you to do something that was going to hurt you. Mimi reassured me that you would be fine, and that it would only hurt for a second. YOU WERE SO BRAVE! You sat on my lap and got each ear done one at a time because there was only one girl working, and you didn't shed ONE SINGLE TEAR! I couldn't believe it. I didn't think you would cry for long, but I never thought you wouldn't cry at all! After she did the second ear you said "owwww that hurt!" You got to pick out a present and off we went! I think you already forgot about them, you honestly haven't mentioned them all day. I have to say, just when I think you couldn't get any cuter, the earrings just look so sweet! I see many pairs in your future and Daddy can't wait to buy you some diamonds!
